Jessica Levitt
I am a clinical psychologist with nearly 20 years of experience helping children, adolescents, and adults. I specialize in cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), a short term, evidence based approach that has been shown to be effective in treating a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and related issues. My style is empathic, compassionate, collaborative, developmentally sensitive, practical, and goal oriented.
I was a founding member of the Metropolitan Center for CBT in New York City and an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons. I have learned from and collaborated with nationally recognized expert clinicians and researchers, published research articles and treatment manuals, and supervised clinicians.
As a therapist, I have helped and supported many people to learn new strategies to cope with difficult emotions and situations and to improve the quality of their life. I am a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. See www.abct.org for more information about CBT.
