He is a Professor at the University of Guadalajara (Mexico), where he develops transdisciplinary research (fields: Psychology, Law, Cultural Management, Music).
He is also a Chartered Scientist (CSci) by The Science Council (UK) and a National Scientist of the National System of Researchers (SNI) (Mexico).
He has been a visiting scholar at several universities in Australia, Finland, UK, Greece, Spain, USA, and Colombia, including PRINCETON, Glasgow, and Barcelona Universities, and various Mexican institutions.
He sits on the board of several academic programs, conferences and journals. He has been frequently engaged in public dissemination through TV, radio, press, and online media.
He has co-designed and co-founded the first Master’s (Research) and PhD programs in Cultural Management in Latin America. He is the founder and was the director & editor-in-chief of the peer-reviewed academic journal “Córima, Revista de Investigación en Gestión Cultural”. He has publications in Spanish, English, and French with recognized imprints, some indexed, including La Découverte (Paris), Routledge and Oxford University Press.
He was the promoter and author of the reform to the Constitution of the State of Jalisco (Mexico) that recognized the Right to Culture and the Cultural Rights for everybody (in force) and is the co-author of the Cultural Heritage Law of the State of Jalisco (in force).
He is also a musician (a tenor), interested in opera and reggaeton.
